Skills Train High Court Victory — What does this mean for Consumer Forums?

Skills Train recently took a civil action for defam­a­tion in the High Court and suc­cess­fully obtained judge­ment against con­sumer forum hosts Digital Trends for defam­a­tion. They were awar­ded £50,000 in rela­tion to inac­cur­ate com­ments made by con­trib­ut­ors to the forum in which Skills Train were accused of run­ning scam Dis­tance Learn­ing Courses. Skills Train made a strongly worded press release, which also sug­ges­ted this decision had implic­a­tions for for­ums that host con­sumer reviews and com­ment­ary. So, are con­sumer for­ums in danger?
